    Hi,

I am using GeneratePress Child Version: 0.1 with the latest version of PG free theme as parent.

For the first time, I started trying to use blocks to create a landing page.

My first attempt was using a WP core Cover block and I had the following issues:

In the editor, the text of the block is horizontally centered, white color and larger text. On the front end, the text is left justified, small and a different color.

Moreover, the left justified text had some of its leftmost characters off screen, like a negative margin.

I tried changing colors, sizes and always the appearance is different on the front end.

Then I switched to the TwentyNineteen theme and things looked more like the editor on the front end. Even better with the TwentyTwenty theme.

The I tried CoBlocks Hero block in GP theme and had many issues as well – buttons not showing properly etc. This was improved with using WP core themes.

    Please help.

I think the GP theme is the best and I have used it for years, including paying for GP Premium in the past.

But I would like it to work with Blocks for my site.

    Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the site in question?

    Let me know πŸ™‚

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

Due to time constraints I abandoned using Blocks and switched to Elementor.

GP works perfectly with Elementor BTW, as it always has – the front end looks exactly the same as the editor.

If you like I can set up a new page with a Cover block and a CoBlock and email you the link and provide you with a screen cap of the editor to compare.

I would just need an email address if you are ok with that.

Maybe let’s revisit when you run into the issue again πŸ™‚

Well in the meantime I recreated the same issue on another site – same thing happens.

I would prefer if you took a look at it because I would like to use GP in future.

GeneratePress support indicates that the core block library style.css file isn’t loading.

I decided to deactivate all plugins.

    This solved the issue.

Then I found when I enable:

    Disable Gutenberg 2.1 plugin.

    This reintroduced the issue.

Even with Gutenberg NOT disabled for pages in this plugin, the problem occurs.

So I guess the core block library style.css file isn’t loading even if Blocks are not disabled.

    Resolved.

Update: The Disable Gutenberg 2.1 plugin has a hidden options section in the Settings page and I did not see that there was a link to open these options.

    Once:
    [] Enable frontend Gutenberg styles
was checked the issue was resolved.

Glad you got it sorted! Thanks for reporting back πŸ™‚
