    I encountered an issue with the Types plugin vs. third-party CPT’s authors.

    I work on a theme where users are able to create their own posts based on a CPT (non-Types one) and I wanted to add extra functionality to them with the Types – I added Types’ CPT to the third party’s CPT easily. Everything works smoothly except one thing: when users posts their posts for reviews, once accepted by admin, posts’ author is set to the admin and there is no way to change that. This results they can’t edit their own posts anymore.

    When I disabled the Types plugin, and tried to review/accept users’ posts again, everything went smoothly – posts’ authors stay intact as they were assigned when creating posts by users. So I suspect the issue is clearly related to the Types.

    How can I prevent changing posts’ authors by the Types?

    Dear kryvulena,

    Please describe more about third-party CPT’s authors. Which plug-in you are using for this purpose.

    Hope you are using latest version of WordPress and Types.

    It’s not a plugin but theme:

    It comes with CPT to list items. A user is able to register and post an item to review. Admins review the item posted and accept or drop it. Once accepted, the user is able to see his item online and manage it. But once the Types is installed and activated and admin accepts the item, item’s author is being changed to “admin” – and the user can’t manage the item anymore since he’s got no admin privileges.

    Using the latest versions of WP and the Types. I can post you ftp and my site URL via PM to see it in action.
