We are having issues with our blog commenting since migrating our site from staging back to production. I have turned off Jetpack and all plugins in the staging site. What’s odd is that the leave a comment box will show for logged in users (we only have admin users on our site), but does not show when logged out/for normal readers. I can get it to show by clearing cache, or messing with settings/deactivating plugins, but it’s never the same thing that fixes it.

Right now, on this post: https://blog.cashmerette.com/2025/10/big-changes-to-how-you-get-your-patterns-spoiler-you-get-more.html, the comment box wasn’t showing, but all other blogs were showing. I togggled some settings off and back on, and the box is now showing. I added two comments, both showed for a bit, then when I refreshed, they were gone.

Super odd behavior we were not experiencing before on this blog. Please let me know if you can help us troubleshoot this.

    Thank you!!

sorry for the double message — if I clear cache a bunch, I can eventually get comments/the box to show, but we are right back with the same issue when I create a new blog post.

Hoping that is helpful info!! 🙂

Hello there, Sebastian here, I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern with us. It seems like the issue might be related to caching or a conflict with your theme or plugins. Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Cache Settings: Since clearing the cache temporarily resolves the issue, review your caching plugin settings. Ensure that pages are not being cached incorrectly. If you have several plugins managing cache, it may be worth deactivating all of them and keeping only one active.
    2. Check Theme Compatibility: Ensure your theme uses the comment_form() function. If not, consider switching to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen to see if the issue persists.
    3. Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate all plugins except Jetpack and see if the issue resolves. If it does, reactivate each plugin one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.

More details on how to check for a theme or plugins: https://jetpack.com/support/troubleshooting-plugin-and-theme-conflicts/

I hope this helps; please let us know how it goes.

    Cheers,

    Hello @nerdnestmedia,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
