    Hello,

I have an issue with my feed in that it is pulling the category through in the XML feed but it is not being changed to the category mapped.

The primary category for all of the products is frustratingly ‘All’ however this would suffice as within the category mapping section of the plugin I’ve assigned ‘All’ to ‘Apparel & Clothing’ which is enough in this instance whilst I work on the products individually to change the primary category. The issue however is that my XML field contains:

    <g:google_product_category>All</g:google_product_category>

Thus the ‘All has not been mapped to the category which I have done and saved many times.

This is causing issues with the feed in Facebook unable to identify the category.

I’m running the latest version of the plugin, the latest version of WooCommerce and WordPress.

    Any help would be excellent.

    Thanks,

    Liam

  • Hi Liam,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Make sure that on the field mapping page you leave the default field mapping in place (based on what you wrote it seems you have changed it). This is the proper field mapping: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qatny026g8jvmws/Proper-Category-Mapping.png?dl=0

Also, make sure you complete the category mapping:

    That should do the trick.

Thanks so much for your help however I think I may have a bigger problem. When I use the typical ‘Category’ option I get the below:

    <g:google_product_category>1604</g:google_product_category>

This is why I tried using another field and found that the primary field brings forward the ‘All’ category but not the mapping from ‘All’ to ‘Apparel’. It sounds as though the field needs to be ‘Category’ to allow the mapping to work which is why ‘All’ is not changing, do you have any ideas as to why the Category brings forward a string of digits rather than ‘All’ or another category?

Also, this may not be important, but the mother child mapping, I don’t have any child categories so I would expect no arrows at all however I do have the larger arrow but the drop down smaller arrows. Is this a problem?

    Thanks,

    Liam

    <g:google_product_category>1604</g:google_product_category>

The above is not a problem but intended, the 1604 is Google’s category ID number and enough for Google to know what category it is.
