Hi there,
I have been checking the link you provided and there are indeed some API key errors in the javascript console (see screenshot).
The error reads “This API project is not authorized to use this API. Places API error: ApiNotActivatedMapError”, with a link which in turns takes you to a Google Maps help document where this error is explained as:
“The Maps JavaScript API is not activated on your API project. You may need to enable the Maps JavaScript API under APIs in the Google Cloud Console. To activate the Maps JavaScript API for your project, click the button below.”
So I suspect the keys were not properly created. Please try creating the API keys again. If in doubt, use the step by step guide in our documentation. We have included a big blue button labeled “Get API key” that will take directly to your Google Cloud Console platform with the necessary information to create the right API keys for wp store locator.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Thanks for your detailed response, I have followed your guide but now it says browser in unresponsive. Any ideas?
Furthermore it won’t let me enter ‘start location’
‘oops, an error has occured’
Hi,
I have checked your site again and the same error persists, so there is definitely something wrong with the API keys. Unfortunately the process of creating the API keys occurs inside your Google Cloud platform account, so we cannot see if there is anything misconfigured in the key setup.
But here’s what we can do. Maybe you can write us a support ticket and you can send us further details, like a screenshot of your API key configuration inside your Google Cloud account. Would that work for you?
Regards,
Hey!
Yes that would be very helpful as followed the guide 100% correct.
