Issues with Profilegrid

Can I get some help getting this to work with https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/profilegrid-user-profiles-groups-and-communities/

It uses it’s own registration page so no matter what I tried the plugin won’t work and I can still register those forbidden usernames
