Hi there! It looks like there is an issue with Jetpack’s connection on your site. That is likely responsible for the trouble that you’ve been having with Publicize.
Could you please try disconnecting and then reconnecting Jetpack to WordPress.com?
To do so, navigate to Dashboard > Jetpack. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link. After doing so, click the “Connect to Get Started” button to reconnect.
Please let me know when you have done so, and I will check that your connection is working properly on our end.
Hi Ryan, thank you for your reply! So I disconnected jetpack from wordpress and reconnected it but the problem is still there. I am not sure what it is. When I try to connect publicize to Facebook it doesn’t even go to gacebook but just to public api @ wordpress.

Hi there:
We’re still having trouble communicating through your site – on our end your site isn’t properly connected to our servers.
We’re seeing timeout errors when we try to access your site over xmlrpc.php: Operation timed out after 5001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
Can you check with your host to see if they’re blocking incoming and outgoing connections through XML-RPC? Let me know if you still have this problem and I’ll be happy to take a closer look.
Thank you. Maybe I need to add some more information to it. I move my old wordpress from http://www.ebels-usa.com to http://www.ebels-png.com via Duplicator . It is the same host and the same server, and everything worked fine before the move. I don’t know what the problem ist right now..
I just got word from my host and they are saying that they don’t block it.
My server does’nt show any error’s on its side. My host is working with a solaris platform. Could this cause any of the problems? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I just got word from my host and they are saying that they don’t block it.
What specifically did they say they’re not blocking? They can have the file itself unblocked, but they could also monitor and throttle incoming and outgoing requests, which I believe is at play. Get back in touch with them and have them look into the timeout error (the Operation timed out after 5001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received error mentioned upthread) further.
Also, you can try to deactivate all plugins (leaving Jetpack active) on your site. Then, try to connect again. If the issue is resolved, activate your plugins one at a time to determine which is causing the conflict.
If that doesn’t help, please rule out a theme conflict by temporarily changing your site’s theme to a default theme (such as Twenty Fifteen) and trying again to connect.
Let me know if you have any questions.
