Issues with using Broadcast bulk actions

    Hello,

    I have Broadcast installed on a network site and have successfully broadcasted multiple core posts to child sites with no issues. When I try to use the Bulk Actions > Broadcast > Delete Children or Trash Children, the child posts are not processed as expected. I have run through these steps multiple time with the same results.

    I have enabled debugging and have included the browser-based notices below.

    When clicking on the Maintenance tab > Broadcast data link in the Network settings, the following notice is displayed: The broadcast data table is missing the ID column. It should now have been created. Please rerun the test. If the test fails, then something is wrong with the database. Is this expected or is there something wrong with the installation? I have tried running these tests with our custom theme and Twenty Twenty Four. Both have the same issues.

    When I trash individual posts on the child sites that were broadcasted with debugging on, the following is returned in the admin panel:

    The broadcast data table is missing the ID column.

    This is the major problem in your install. Without the ID column the linking table is broken and posts will not be able to be linked.

    Usually, this is fixable using the maintenance check, but sometimes it doesn’t work and this is due to the database admin not allowing the WordPress user to modify existing tables.

    The solution is to tell your database admin to give the db user more permissions.

    Failing that, use this SQL snippet in your phpmyadmin to manually recreate the linking table:

    CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS wp__3wp_broadcast_broadcastdata (
    id int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT COMMENT ‘ID of row’,

    post_id int(11) NOT NULL COMMENT ‘Post ID’,

    This is assuming that your database uses the wp_ prefix.

    Hello,

    I have checked the database and the user should have all the necessary privileges.

    I reviewed the tables and nothing is there for Broadcast.

    The database tables are using the wp_ prefix. Could you confirm your table name and prefix is correct: wp__3wp_broadcast_broadcastdata?

    Yes, as you can see in the sql code. That’s the exact code I got from my phpmyadmin, I did not modify it at all.
