It does the job
-
This editor makes sense to me.
I’ve used CMS systems that use tinymce or ckeditor as their editor before, and they work to a point but they take a very 1990’s/2000’s view of web design, where a web document is designed more like a word document with very little regard to themes and to responsiveness. With this gutenberg editor, the layout is shown ‘as is’, and makes it much easier to stay within the appearance set by your site’s theme without for example copying in some random red, underlined bold text (which customers will always do, give them a short piece of rope and they’ll try to hang their whole team with it at once then complain to the developer when it snaps).
As a lazy developer, who wants to spend his time developing software not designing websites, this fills the hole nicely.
Don’t let the naysayers drag you down.
