it doesn’t optimize the /wp-content/uploads/2020 directory and all similar directories with only numbers in their names. How can I fix this?

  • Hi @darkozoid

I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.

Is there any error when you try to compress images from those folders?

Also, could you double-check via FTP or in Cpanel, does your folder and files have correct permissions?

    Folders should have 755.
    Files should have 644.

Please let us know about the results and any errors in your next reply.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Directories already have 755 permissions, but that’s not the problem. I found the class-dir.php:913 line in the plugin code, commented it out, and everything worked.

    Hi @darkozoid

    Thank you for the update.

Let me check if we are on the same page, would you like to optimize from directory smush the directories that WordPress create for the images.

If so, the reason for this be blocked from UI interface is because the files located on those folders, most of the time is the WordPress > Media Library, those files are optimized when you run a Bulk Smush and no other action would be required on Directory Smush.
