Did you set the plugin to 75% quality before or after uploading your image?
Since WordPress generates thumbnails right when the image is uploaded & then saves them in the wp-content/uploads/ folder, the Resized Image Quality (RIQ) plugin won’t change the size of any images that you uploaded *before* it’s installed or setup.
If you’d like to reduce the size of already-saved images, here’s how:
1. Install the RIQ plugin and set it to your chosen compression (75% here)
2. Install the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
3. Run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin & it will apply the RIQ 75% setting to everything it processes
After that you can deactivate Regenerate Thumbnails, but leave RIQ enabled and all new images will be set to 75% too.
I don’t have the JPEG Quality option in the settings as shown in the screenshot. I can’t reduce the quality with the plugin. Help?
Hi @alduh, would you mind opening a new support thread for this question?
That will help stop us from sending many messages to @master412160. Since he started this thread he would get a copy of all our messages too.
Also, when you re-post would you mind including the following info:
* WordPress version #
* hosting company & plan-type
* Check if you have an admin page at Settings > Image Quality. That’s the 2nd copy of this control
