Nevertheless, I am doing testing after a year on latest WordPress, and let you know what I found.

I have WP 4.1 my display sebpage is blank, only showing the code [imagemap id=”1060″].
what I did:
on the Admin dashboard/images maps/add new image map
I uploaded a map/ titled “zipcodes”/publish
“edit image maps” opens- I wrapped 1 area /add area/ named a title/save/edit page. (created also a second area and save it/edited too.that brings me
back to “edit image map” page – I choose “popup window” uploaded a member’s picture an bio. clicked “update”.
Finally I created a new page on admin dashboard /add media/ choose image map/ choose “zipcodes” and a new page shows up with a shortcode [imagemap id=”1109″].
finally I published this final page and when viewing it on the web is only shows a blank page with the same code. no map.
what Am i doing wrong. I have WP 4.1.
I am 70 today and new to wordpress.It took me a while trying to figure it out, without success. the original map was quite large 472 kB : 725 × 578 so I tried different pictures. the smallest resolution. was 21 kB 190 × 98 – same thing.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

PS.
in the plugin all image I chhose “zipcodes” and view. that open a preview page with a 404 error- page not found. the URL shows
http://www.southernnevadapets.com/imagemap/zipcode-map
but my server do not have an imagemap folder so that explains the 404 error.
any idea ???
another question if I finally make it working, members do cover different are of service. can2 area superimposed in part? when pointing on the common area, does both embers will show? (as supposed to). Thank again and again,
