    The thumbnail size changed suddenly.
    All thumbnail size became full-size.
    I deleted thumbnail reluctantly.

    global $wpdb;
$wpdb->query( "
	DELETE FROM $wpdb->postmeta
	WHERE meta_key = '_thumbnail_id'
" );

    After that it was generated by a plug-in.
    But it isn’t generated.

    I can confirm this. It says has generated, the postmeta are there, but the media entries in posts table are not.

    I think because it relies on wp-image-xxx but in my case the blog was imported and for some reason all the media xxx didn’t exist.
