ITEM_TOTAL_MISMATCH error message

My client is reporting some customers get the following message when trying to purchase the linked product: ITEM_TOTAL_MISMATCH Should equal sum of unit_amount * quantity) across all items for a given purchase_unit

I can’t replicate the issue and at times, orders for the product go through. Unfortunately, this has been a recurring issue. Other products work fine. Any ideas?

Hi @oldpixelpusher,

Did your customers provide information at what point and what steps they took before receiving that error message? It sounds like this is coming from PayPal and the two PayPal plugins I can see installed on your site are these ones:

WooCommerce PayPal Payments: by WooCommerce – 1.7.1
WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway: by WooCommerce – 2.1.3
```
Make sure you enable only one of those in order to collect payments through PayPal. In case the problem recurs and there are further reports I would suggest reaching out to us on this forum:

Thanks for the response Mirko. I was able to replicate the problem tonight. I only have the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin activated.

More info…after billing details are provided and you click a payment method (PayPal, Venmo, or Debit or Credit Card), then the message appears. It’s only this product…unfortunately it is one of my client’s best sellers. We’ve recreated the product and that didn’t even work.

I did find if you add another item in the cart with the troublesome item, it seems to work. The whole thing is strange. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. I will reach out to the other recommended forum.
