I have specific “shopxxx” pages for each category. All display the items for a given category correct except the “shopoth” category. I just built this page and believe I copied it from “shopgrn” which is the page all the items being shown are. I have checked the category 3 digit code (oth) and it is correct, have looked all over the woo system for some modification I need to make. Have not located it.

    Thanks for any help

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

Can you switch your theme temporarily to Storefront? After that, please check if the issue persists.

If you edit one product that is having the issue, does the product has the correct category added? Please recheck.

Installed the Storefront theme. Same problem as previously – items being shown are not the “oth” category but all items in the “grn” category.

Edited a product and created https://snipboard.io/XB8le2.jpg which is the before edit and https://snipboard.io/Sfo3sX.jpg is the after image. I then validated by checking the page for the new category that was added to it and it was selected/displayed.

I then removed the category “oth” from 1 product. It was still being shown. I then also removed the “grn” category and it was no longer visible. The “shopgrn” and the “shopoth” pages always show the same products – which is the problem I am trying to resolve.

I then added the “grn” category to the above product. I then looked at the “shopoth” page and that product was now being displayed – whereas it should not be.

I displayed my categories and saved it to https://snipboard.io/OojbiG.jpg. You can see there is difference on number of products in the “oth” and “grn” categories. No matter what I do it is always displaying the “grn” products.

In displaying the products by categories above I selected the “grn” category to display and it displayed the 12 products (https://sales.xpresslifttool.com/product-category/grn/). Modifying the url to the “oth” category https://sales.xpresslifttool.com/product-category/oth) it displayed only the 10 products, as desired. That tells me the DB is properly structured and there must be something wrong with the “/shopoth” page.

I am using Elementor for the various shopxxx pages. Is there some parm in it that must be changed that I have missed? The only thing I have done is make the url “/shopoth” vs the others “/shoptrl”, “/shopgrn”, …

    Thanks

    Igor,

Firstly: Thanks for your reply. I am a retired IT guy and was heavy into resolving problems – on mainframes. SO, in doing all the diagnosis above which you directed me too, I decided it was something wrong with the page. Since I built all the shopxxx pages via Elementor and effectively duplicated this one I decided it was the culprit. Knowing that WP builds most of its pages from the database the problem must reside there in some form.

So, I got the post_id and using SQL looked at the meta data that Elementor had saved. Indeed there was a “grn” saved internally that should of been “oth”. Once I changed that, the problem was resolved.
