When reviewing orders in Woocommerce, underneath the shipping method, it normally says something like:

Items: MyProduct x 1

(and a little different for variations, and should be more different with add-ons)

Is USPS Simple preserving the items? I’m not seeing it when doing Woocommerce > Orders > (click on order) > (scroll down to shipping info). It only happens when the USPS Simple plugin is turned on (just for the shipping methods from this plugin).

Hello @eja2025,

USPS Simple doesn’t store the items within the metadata of its shipping options. Do you have a case when this might be helpful?

On Edit Orders and some of the emails, it’s very useful to have that info for some cases, like multiple shipping (to know what goes in each shipment). But also, having the package information is part of the other built-in shipping methods, like flat shipping and free shipping.

We found how to fix it, by doing the same thing that the other shipping methods do:

In src/ShippingMethod.php
In calculate_shipping()
Add the follow line before the call to add_rate():

$rate['package'] = $package;

You can see this is done in calculate_shipping() for flat rate and free shipping:
