iTheme2 Hidding Header

    Has anyone managed to find the code to hide the Site Description and Site Title line on iTheme2? Yes, I’ve tried Googling it and there have been other discussions about it on here but I haven’t found a resolution.

    I want to hide the site description and site title VISUALLY but obviously still have it there for search engine purposes, just don’t want it to show on the actual site.

    These forums really only support themes from the repository on this site, but I took a quick look at yours and this should do it:

    #site-logo a, #site-description {
   display: none;
}

    Doing anything to “hide” elements off a page may impact your SEO – there’s no way to have it both ways.

    Thank you for taking the time to help me. I appreciate your time.

    As for SEO, I’m hoping if it’s associated with the site (even hidden) then it’s still a positive. I’m not an expert so it’s just my way for having the text there in the theme (previously I just left it empty) and hopefully impacting SEO.

    I think WPyogi was referring to a concern that hiding information with CSS may compromise your website’s trustworthiness in the perspective of search engines.

    Ah, interesting, thanks Andrew. What can I do though? If I leave it on there then it just looks super bad!

    Thanks Krishna…like I said, not really sure what else I can do. It doesn’t give me the “Hide Text” option that the .com WP gives you. :-/

    I think you’re okay with hiding things every so often, but try your best to avoid it.

    You may have to edit some PHP files to get around it.

    Have absolutely no idea how to do that so that won’t be happening LOL I genuinely do not use any sneaky techniques to promote the site (God knows I wish I did on my photos!!!) so I feel that I wouldn’t end up being cuffed by the WordPress police 😉
