    Hi @scr1921 !

    That particular error message is saying that you’ve exceeded the rate limit, meaning you’ve done too many attempts to scan the site in a row.

    After waiting and retrying, do you get the same error message?

    It’s possible that the issue here is related to caching causing the plugin to *think* that you’ve attempted too many times.

    Either way, we’ll get to the bottom of the issue for sure. Pass along any additional logs you have after waiting the time stated in the message, and We’ll definitely have a look!

    Hi @scr1921, I understand you still get the same error after waiting for the cooldown.

    Could you please conduct a plugin and theme conflict check using the steps here? Then, please try clearing all cache (server, CDN, plugin, and browser) and rerun a manual Site Scan after.

    If you still see the same error, please paste your Site Health Info here. Please go to Tools > Site Health > Info and click the “Copy site info to clipboard“

    Hi @scr1921 certainly!

    Before proceeding with a conflict check, make sure to create a backup of your site. If possible, do the conflict check on a staging environment to avoid downtime.

    To clear caches, please check out this article for a step-by-step guide.

    To check for a theme conflict, switch your active theme to any WordPress default theme, like Twenty Twenty-Three. Then, clear the caches and check if the error persists. If it does, proceed with the following steps.

    To check for a plugin conflict, temporarily deactivate all your plugins except iThemes Security. Next, clear all caches (skip the plugin cache) and check if the error still shows when doing a manual Site Scan.

    Hi @scr1921, per our developer, the Site Scanner has a 10-minute rate limit. For iTSec Free users, it’s tied to your server’s IP address, so you may run into the rate limit more often if you have plenty of sites on the same server. Our suggestion would be to upgrade to Solid Security Pro.
