Hi there!
An ITN number is required when you’re shipping orders outside of the country, as mentioned in our documentation here:
https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shipping/#Items
Please use the link provided in that document to learn more about how to obtain an ITN number.
Could you please confirm whether the order you’re trying to place is international or domestic? Also, have you tried following the instructions in the documentation on how to obtain an ITN when the ITN notice appears?
It’s international, and yes I’ve followed the instructions and it will be 4+ weeks to obtain an ITN. However, ITN’s are only required for orders in excess of $2500 USD, and this particular order is much less than that. The error seems to be tied to the currency conversion…
Hi @powercell,
Thanks for the additional context. This situation is understandably disruptive, especially when the order value is being interpreted in a way that affects label generation, and I want to make sure we verify this from the right source.
Could you please clarify where you are seeing the information that an ITN is only required for shipments in excess of $2500 USD. If this is from a publicly accessible page, sharing the direct URL would be helpful. If it is coming from another source such as your shipping provider or government guidance, a screenshot would also work. You can upload screenshots via https://snipboard.io.
From the checks on my side and the available documentation, an ITN currently appears to be required for all shipments leaving the country, regardless of the order total or currency. Once I can review the source you are referencing, I can confirm whether this is expected behaviour or something that should be raised internally.
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved.
If you still need help with this, please let us know.
