• EDIT 5-15-25: Coming back – I don’t know – months(?) later to report that the remnants of this plugin had infected my database to such a degree that it is now literally impossible to get rid of all the cling-ons. Searching my options table and server files repeatedly in the past weeks revealed this uninstalled plugin to be absolutely everywhere (not just transient files, but within other plugins’ php files, too). If you plan on switching from this plugin to another speed/caching plugin, just know it will take hold and be with your database forever, redirecting many of your plugins to run via its folder paths and classmaps. For an optimization plugin, the plugin itself is terribly optimized and even after you uninstall, it will still slightly bog your site down with unnecessary plugin cling-ons and options table bloat.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Lots of great, useful tools in this plugin, but they are mostly pay to play now. Also, (after using it for a while then switching to another plugin that had a lot of the same features for free) I found that my wp_options table in my database had remnants of this plugin clogging up my autoloads. Had to go in and manually remove them since the Jetpack uninstallation process didn’t wipe them, nor did they disappear after time passed as they should have – persistent little buggers. Has the potential to be a great plugin but does not hit the mark.

    Hi @jaredatbrtc

Thank you for your feedback and for using Jetpack. We appreciate your insights and are sorry to hear about your experience with both our pricing model and the database remnants. Regarding the transition of some features to paid plans, this change helps us continue developing and improving Jetpack, ensuring it remains a robust tool for our users. We understand that this can be frustrating, especially when similar features are available elsewhere for free.

As for the database issue you encountered, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by leftover data in your wp_options table. While our uninstallation process aims to clean up as much as possible, some data may persist. To address this, you can use plugins like WP-Optimize or WP-Sweep to help clean up these remnants safely. Additionally, we recommend checking our documentation or reaching out to our support team for guidance on manual cleanup if needed.

Please feel free to contact us directly if you need further assistance or have any other questions. We are here to help and ensure your experience with Jetpack and WordPress is as smooth as possible.
