iTunes XML error – Line 62 – document structures

    Hi, I’m running the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of SSP. I’ve just created my first podcast post, and everything looks fine on the site – the player shows up where it’s supposed to, and the audio plays with no problem.

    However, when I try to submit the feed to iTunes I get a validation error as follows:

    Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Line 62: XML document structures must start and end with the same entity.

    I ran the XML through a third-party validator, and it looks like it had a problem with the </item> tag on line 62. Suggestions?

    I forgot the link back to my site. The post with the podcast is as follows:

    I have deleted the plugin and reinstalled it, to no avail. I get the same error message on iTunes. I even tried changing my cover to make sure it was 1400X1400. Not sure what to do at this point.

    Could you please deactivate all of your other plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme (Twenty Twelve, etc.) and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, then reactivate your plugins one by one and you will find out which one is causing the conflict with SSP. If all of your plugins are fine then switch your theme back to the one you’re using now and see if that breaks the feed again.

    Once you’ve done this testing please let me know what the results are.

    My apologies – this was due to a bug that was introduced in v1.8.7 that went unnoticed in my testing. I have just uploaded v1.8.9 that contains the fix for this issue so please update in your WordPress dashboard and everything should be sorted out.
