I’ve lost the dashboard

    I’ve installed 2.6.2 (repeatedly!) but when the database is upgraded and I try to sign into wp-admin, it redirects me directly to the site. I can’t access my dashboard. I’ve tried checking config and login files – no problems evident, but ptoblem persists. When I re-install the old version, it works perfectly. Am I doing something obviously wrong?
