On one of my websites, upgrading Strong Testimonials to 2.51.4 or 2.51.5 seems to throw up loads of Javascript errors.

This site has a lot of custom view templates – is there something I should be updating in my template config.json and content.php files to prevent these errors occurring?

    UPDATE:

I have tested my thory on another site and removing my custom templates fixes the Javascript errors.

I believe some of your code changes in the 2.51.4 update have affected custom templates for views.

Can you please investigate? I can send copies of the template files if required.

Meanwhile I have had to rollback the plugin to version 2.51.3

    Hello @shaunbowen,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Can you please send us some screenshots with the errors you get and also with those templates here: http://strongtestimonials.com/contact-us/ ?

    Thank you,
    Beatrice.

Hi Beatrice, I have been doing some more investigating and it seems there may be an issue with the hosting/cPanel configuration that is causing this issue with the latest version of your plugin.

I made a clone of one of the sites that had the problem and moved it over to a different hosting provider – there were no longer any errors when I updated Strong Testimonials.

Can you tell me if there are some PHP versions or extensions that are required for the new version of Strong Testimonials?

Hi Beatrice, I have now updated the Strong Testimonials plugin on the live sites and the errors have gone! It looks like the server company had some problems or conflicts that they fixed in the last couple of days!

I will mark this as ‘Resolved’ now.
