Javascript settings

Hi,

I have modified the cookie infobar to show as a pop up. The cookie infobar hides when the user clicks outside the modal.

Based on this click, I would like to set the cookie preferences (advanced, strict) to true/false with Jquery/JS? Otherwise, the modal would reappear when the user changes the page. Is there a way to achieve this?
