I added Jetpack to my 15 wordpress blogs again several days ago and still having same problems I had a few years ago when I tried Jetpack and then removed it from all my sites.
This time after a few days I found what I think is causing my problems, πŸ™‚
I fount that the five blogs I am having a problem with, and that is I can’t set-up the SETTINGS, all have a different ACCOUNT CONNECTION. The 10 sites with one ACCOUNT CONNECTION are working fine and with all the searching I’ve done, I have not been able to find how to change the ACCOUNT CONNECTION on the problem sites to the ACCOUNT CONNECTION that is on the 10 sites that are working. I’ve tried asking Jetpack themselves who say they answer in 24 hours but no answer after four days.
    Thank you,
    Kenneth Adair

    UPDATE ON ORIGINAL PROBLEM
Well, after steady three hours of doing this and that, it appears I was able to figure out how to get all the accounts of my 15 sites on the same ACCOUNT CONNECTION.
However, I am still unable to perform the settings on those five sites.
“Error updating settings. Unexpected token R in JSON at position 0”
“Error enabling Site accelerator. SyntaxError: Unexpected token R in JSON at position 0”

    Thanks again,

    Hi Kenneth,

Can you give us the URLs of the specific sites where you’re unable to update Jetpack settings? Then we can check if anything is wrong with those Jetpack connections.

We need the links you use to actually view the homepage in your browser, not the link of the Jetpack settings page in WP-Admin, as only you have access to that link.

    Hi Kokkie,
    Thanks for looking at this!
The sites whit the SETTINGS problems are:
    sex-chat-search.com
    pokercasinosgambling.com
    nfl-sports-betting.net
    football-soccer.net
    casino-slots-blackjack.com
I have ten more sites that appear to be just fine and they all are on the same hosting with the same plugins.
Thanks again for looking and have a sunny day,
    Ken

At least according to tests from our end, Jetpack is working properly on those sites now.

Are you still having trouble with this?

    Hi wonderful Volunteer Moderators,
I am still having same problems on all five of those sites with Jetpack. I tried several times at deleting and re-installing Jetpack on my https://www.casino-slots-blackjack.com/.
I couldn’t even install it with the “Account Connection” of the other 10 sites which I had no problem with: “Connected as adairk2013
    [email protected]”.
Every time I try to install Jetpack now is again “Account connection”: “Connected as asiangirlcams1
    [email protected]
I can’t even get it to install with that Account Connection as I was able to do last night even though it didn’t change anything on those five sites.

When I tried Jetpack a few years ago, I remember having similar if not the same problems and finally ended up deleting it from all sites until now. Maybe if you think it will be too much of a problem trying to get Jetpack working I should just delete it again?
I’m always appreciative of you people who do this and get nothing out of it. I would gladly be doing the same if I had any knowledge of this stuff.
    All the best,
    Kenneth Adair

It looks like you also have a support ticket open with us under the asiangirlcams1 account, so I’m going to ask you to please be patient while waiting for a reply over there, as it will be easier to help you with this via email. I’ve added the information from this forum thread to that support ticket, so the person who helps you there will have all the details.

    Hi Guys,
I think I found the problem!
I happened to find that on all the sites that were giving me problems with Jetpack that the Yoast SEO Wizard would not work.
Then after a couple hours of messing around I came to the conclusion that the Yoast SEO pluging was the problem. So I found another plugin “SEOPress” and installed it and set it up and then installed Jetpack to find that it worked.
Only did it for one of the five sites so far but I think it’s safe to say that is the problem. Will do the other four tomorrow!
    Thanks everyone,
    Ken

I’m sorry to be back so soon and sorry for being wrong.
I reproduced the steps that allowed me to get Jetpack to work on one site on two more sites and they both failed.:-(

    Sorry,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,

There was indeed a problem caused by the latest update to Yoast SEO, that we only discovered yesterday ourselves. As far as I know Yoast has since fixed that, though, so if you update to the newest version of that plugin it should work again. Or else you can ask the Yoast team for advice at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/

As for the ones where disabling Yoast also doesn’t help, we can look into that via your email support ticket.

That said, perhaps check if disabling all other pugins besides Jetpack makes any difference – if Yoast was causing it on at least one of your sites, it’s possible a plugin issue could be the cause on the others as well.

And if not, at least we’ve ruled out one possibility.

Well, good thing is there is one less site with the Jetpack problem.
I have deleted WP super Cache and installed W3 Total Cache. I have deleted Yoast SEO and installed SEOPress and still have the exact same problems with Jetpack. The most prominent ones being:
Error updating settings. Unexpected token R in JSON at position 0
Error enabling Site accelerator. SyntaxError: Unexpected token R in JSON at position 0
I’ve even seen a couple of times an error claiming something about my cart is expecting payment of $300.00 even though I am starting with the FREE JETPACK.
Another odd thing that has nothing to do with Jetpack is that on the Yoast SEO on all four sites that are having the problem is that I can’t get past the FIRST STEP in the Configuration Wizard.
    Thanks Guys,
    Ken

That indicates that at some point you added a paid plan to the cart, but you never completed the checkout process. Click on that notice, and remove the plan from the cart, and you’ll stop seeing it.

    Hi All,
Just want to let you all know that no need to worry about this any more. I am having all of those problem sites wiped off my hosting and going to start over again with them with a clean slate.
    Thanks for the help,
    Ken
