Trying to connect Jetpack to this church’s WP self-hosted site, I get the following error:

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: token_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. SSL read: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0), errno 0

  • Im having the same issue.

    Hi tom & silent –

Add the following code, to wp-config.php, before the MySQL settings.

    ‘define( ‘JETPACK_CLIENT__HTTPS’, ‘NEVER’ );’

Jeremy Herve, the plug in author, suggested I call NetSol and ask if they would update cURL, as this could be causing the issue.

I have called Network Solutions and ask if they would update cURL from their installed v7.31.0 to either v7.32.0 or v7.33.0.

    Keith helped me @ NetSol
He said when engineers think that an extension needs to be updated then they will. He took my request to have it updated. He was helpful.
