Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed.

    I was using Jetpack plugin for 3 months and it was working fine, yesterday I deactivated some plugins for some reasons including Jetpack. When activated again, Jetpack was unable to connect with wordpress.com.

    Error that i’m getting
    ‘ Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
    Failed to connect to jetpack.wordpress.com port 80: Connection timed out’

    I asked my hosting provider, they checked my site and replied me with this
    ‘ Dear Rahul,

    I was checking for your issue, seems like our server IP is not able to connect to their server. IP might be block. Please try contacting their support team or developer to check if our server IP 115.124.112.209 is blocked on their firewall.

    Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    I contacted jetpack.me supportt 24 Hours ago and get no reply so I created this thread here.

    What I get from DEBUG LINK:

There seems to be a problem with your site’s ability to communicate with Jetpack!

Your site isn’t reaching the Jetpack servers.
Your site isn’t securely reaching the Jetpack servers.
It looks like your site can not communicate properly with Jetpack.

    I also tried to disable all plugins and activated default WordPress themes and get no luck.

    After that I uninstalled the complete wordpress installation and cleared my Public_html folder and reinstalled it again. I was again unsuccessful , my hosting company said to contact the developers to ask if their ip is blocked.

    In my case I had the same issue, which was caused by blocking access to xmlrpc.php in IPtables.

    XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    @rahul
    this means that is not blocked as a measure of security and is working fine, so the issue is not related to xmlrpc.
    Also in my case I have my own server.
