Thanks for the information! The first thing to check is whether any other plugins on your site may have a conflict. Please check our Known Issues list here:
http://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/troubleshooting-tips/
You can also try to deactivate all plugins on your site, and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, then activate them one at a time to determine which is causing the conflict.
If that doesn’t help, please rule out a theme conflict by temporarily changing your site’s theme to a default theme (such as Twenty Sixteen) and trying again.
Please let me know how that works for you, and we can go from there!
Hi everyone,
I had the same issue this morning “cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 1000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received jetpack” after deactivating JetPack.
Since JetPack has been working seamlessly until today, I figured that the issue could be caused by one of the latest plugins I installed. In my case, after deactivating “Broken Link Checker” and “WP All Export” (though I doubt that the latest may have caused the issue), everything went back to normal. Also, I made sure that XML-RPC was enabled in my security configuration.
I hope this can help some of you.

@nikkoboy: Thanks for sharing your solution!
Deactivating “WP All Export” also solved the same problem for me.
Thanks nikkoboy, I’ve been baffled by this error for months.
