Jetpack Markdown not rendering

    I activated Markdown in Jetpack as per the instructions. However, when I create a new post and click on “Text” the HTML controls are still present and any Markdown code pasted there does not render correctly. It looks like it renders it as text (all Markdown tags have no effect). I have deactivated every other plugin except Jetpack, I have disconnected/reconnected Jetpack, and I have uninstall/reinstalled Jetpack. None of it made any difference. I have tried other markdown plugins and they work but are all deprecated to the Jetpack version. Your help in this matter is highly appreciated.

    Could you give me some examples of Markdown text you tried to use, and how it is displayed on your site?

    OK, I see what is happening. Yes, apparently it is working, just not the way I expected. The rendering happens when posted not in the editor’s visual mode (that will need to be addressed, I suspect). You may want to update the documentation to reflect this. On a side note, I had some PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard) issues with Beautiful Math. I fixed the syntax so that it works when rendered, but I have to see if MarkdownEdit supports that version of LaTEX.
