    Hello,

The Jetpack options that normally show when editing a post have disappeared. There’s no icon to open the jetpack sidebar/panel that has the newsletter and social sharing controls in (so the newsletters that get sent when a post is published are not being sent).

I have used troubleshooting mode to rule out a plugin or theme conflict (the issue remains on a default theme). This is happening on different devices in different locations. There are console errors relating to wp.editPost.PluginSidebarMoreMenuItem and wp.editPost.PluginSidebar, and also “jetpack-social-editor-css was added to the iframe incorrectly. Please use block.json or enqueue_block_assets to add styles to the iframe” and “jetpack-external-media-editor-css was added to the iframe incorrectly. Please use block.json or enqueue_block_assets to add styles to the iframe.”

Thank you in advance for any guidance you can give regarding a fix.

    Catherine

Hello there, Sebastian here. I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern with us and going forward with a few debugging issues.

I can see an error with the connection between your site and Jetpack. You’ll need this connection working for Jetpack to function correctly for most of its features. This could be realted to the Jetpack button not appearing, let’s discard this as a first.

To be more specific about the error, we are seeing a 403error code; you can read more about the error here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/403

As a first step, contact your hosting provider and ask them to check their security logs to see whether they are blocking or otherwise limiting incoming and outgoing XML-RPC connections. Jetpack uses this file to communicate with your site, but some hosts block requests to it. To make sure this is not an issue, please ask them to whitelist the IP addresses listed on this page:

    https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-allowlist-jetpack-ip/

Additionally, please verify that you have no security plugins activated that may be blocking our requests.

Please let us know when you have completed that, and we can test the connection again.

    Cheers,

    Hi there, @catherinejc,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

Thank you – the host company investigated and switched to a server-side cron job, which solved the issue.
