I am new to WordPress. I have installed wp 4.1 on shared hosting.
I was trying to install Jetpack plugin but it is giving error:

Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32601
    Try connecting again.

Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site's XML-RPC URL. If you have the W3 Total Cache plugin installed, deactivate W3 Total Cache, try to Connect to WordPress.com again, reactivate W3 Total Cache, then clear W3 Total Cache's cache.

I have W3 Total Cache plugin installed. But now I had deactivated (even deleted) it but error continued.

I searched little bit and tried some method but didn’t found solution.
xmlrpc.php file is also working correctly and showing “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.”

Anyone having solution for this, please help.

One more thing my hosting provider doesn’t use port 80.

  • I am having the same issue after I moved a server from on ISP to another ( was connected on original setup, and after move, was as well), disconnected the jetpack to troubleshoot some other issues, when I went to re-connect, it failed to activate with the ‘xml_rpc-32601’ error. Now I am unable to reactivate the plugin… because this error. Tried to re-connect w/o ANY other plugins enabled, and had the same issue… tried resetting permalinks, same issue… tried to find connected account at WP, but was unable to find it… ANY assistance would be appreciated.
