Jetpack setup error [HTTP 500]

    I just setup my WordPress site and immediately received an error message when I tried to setup Jetpack: “The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site http://trotandmunch.com [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.com/support/”

    I contacted iPage, the server provider, and they were very unhelpful. The rep suggested I just find an alternative Plugin lol. I disabled all plugins, removed the custom theme and deleted and reinstalled Jetpack without success.

    Here is the last report from the server error log:

    Sorry to hear your host was unable to help with this. Rest assured you don’t need to find another plugin! We’ll help you figure out what the issue is.

    Can you please use the WordPress Site Health feature to send us some more information about your site?

    To do so, follow these steps:

    – In your WP Admin dashboard menu, click Tools, then select Site Health.
    – Click Info at the top of the page.
    – Click the ‘Copy site info to clipboard’ button

    I have the exact same error, also hosted with ipage, and they said to contact Jetpack support LOL! I Tried everything that was in the suggestion in the other forums, but nothing seems to work.

    Can you provide on update on what was the fix, if you have one already?
