Jetpack subscription widget for mobile users

I’m using the Jetpack widget to allow users to subscribe to blog post notifications for a site I’m running.

Issue: users on mobile are not being added to subscriptions. They can put their email, click ‘subscribe,’ get the ‘success!’ notification on the page, but they do not receive an email to verify their subscription. No issue for users on desktop, only mobile users. Unfortunately, that’s a lot of people who think they’re subscribing on their phone that we’re missing.

Is this something on the Jetpack end? I can’t figure out what would cause this issue on my end.
