Do you use a caching plugin or service on your site? If so, could you try clear your site’s cache?
Once you’ve done so, go to Plugins menu in your dashboard and deactivate, then delete the Jetpack plugin.
You can then reinstall Jetpack from scratch and try to connect again.
If you don’t have a caching feature, or you aren’t sure where to find it, we have a little alternative connection route plugin you can use.
Can you download this plugin:
https://github.com/automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/add/old-connection-flow.zip
Download the file, then go to Plugins > Add New > Upload in your dashboard to install and activate the plugin. Could you then try to connect again to WordPress.com? Once you’re connected, you can deactivate and delete this little plugin.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks. I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes!
Well we did the first two steps and Jetpack is now active. But it’s caught in the same loop of not activating for wordpress.com The plugin that you gave us to download didn’t work.
Sorry about that! Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?
- Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
- Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
- Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
- Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
- Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.
Thanks!
