Hi. I’m having some issues with JetPack. When I first activated Jet Pack, I accidentally clicked to link it with another account. So I deactivated and deleted Jet Pack temporarily. I went back to re-download JetPack, but it wouldn’t activate because it says “Destination folder already exists. /hermes/bosnaweb05a/b328/ipw.annekewoods/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/ Plugin install failed.” But it isn’t showing up in my installed plug-ins. How do I fix this issue?

To remove Jetpack, you can FTP into your site and delete the folder wp-content/plugins/jetpack. (If you’re not sure how to do this, ask your hosting company for help.)

After that’s done, you can reinstall Jetpack by following these instructions:

    http://jetpack.me/support/installing-jetpack/

Let me know if that solves the problem. 🙂 Thanks!

I am unable to activate Jetpack. It keeps asking for my WordPress.com U/N and password, but won’t accept them. I know I’m using the right ones, but it says one or the other is invalid. They aren’t. Any suggestions? Thank you.

@conscjc1 The Jetpack plugin requires you to connect to a WordPress.com account to be fully activated.

To do so, you will have to create a WordPress.com account here:
    https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

If you had previously created an account, but forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:
    http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure you read it for important instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation email can get caught in them sometimes.

Please note that WordPress.com accounts are different from the account you use to administrate your blog. WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs available through ww.wp.xz.cn are two different entities.
Please check out the following links to learn the differences.

Thank you, Jeremy. I had no clue I needed another account and password to add Jetpack to my blog account, as both are through ww.wp.xz.cn. That doesn’t seem intuitive, but I truly appreciate your help!
