Each group seems tied to one registration form, is there a way to have more than one registration form add a user to the same group? Or is a way to programmatically add a user to a group?

I am using RegistrationMagic for user registration, premium on both plugins.

For context: I have one core group I want all users to belong to but two signup routes & forms on the site, currently only one of the forms adds users to the core group and the other route needs them to be added manually. I would like to automatically add all users to the core group no matter what form they used.

    Hello Wroth,

Thank you for writing to us.

As of now, multiple registration forms cannot register users to one ProfileGrid group. Each ProfileGrid group is associated with only one registration form.

That being said, we have noted your requirement and will add it to the feature list we have already planned for the next update of ProfileGrid-RegistrationMagic Integration. You will see some action on this in the near future.

    Thank you for the response.

I think it is an important feature so it’s good to hear it is on the drawing table at least, it would enable multiple signup routes for new users which are key in terms of segmenting new users towards specific landing pages etc while still keeping them in common groups. Especially since profile fields are tied to groups.

I was looking through your knowledge base and could not find documentation on ways to programmatically add a user to a group? Similar to how you can manually put users in groups through the edit user admin page. My thought was that if I can not do it from the signup form I could write a custom solution here. Are there any docs on this for developers on this I missed you can point me towards?

    Hello Wroth,

Unfortunately, there is no way to programmatically add users with ProfileGrid as well. There are multiple ways to do this with ProfileGrid’s interface though.

Please refer to the following steps to add/remove users in Groups manually:

    1) Login to WordPress Dashboard and go to “ProfileGrid >> User Profiles” menu.

    2) Here you will see the users list. Go to Edit Profile page of user and look for the option “User Group(s)”.

    3) Select or deselect the Groups here for that User and save changes.

Group Managers or Site Administrator can also add/remove users in Groups from front-end using the extension “Frontend Group Manager”. For more details, you can visit this link: https://profilegrid.co/multi-group-users-and-group-manager/

Do let us know if you have any other questions.
