When I disable .webp support in chrome, the .webp versions of images are still served, JPEG fallbacks are not loaded. This breaks the page with alt image text instead of images. Is this intended behaviour? I thought there would be some fallback to JPEG on unsupported browsers. I know most browsers support webp, but is there a solution?

I should mention that after clicking “use original files” and then “purge all”, My freshly opened chrome guest mode with cache disabled still is served webp images. Strange.

Another edit: I found an old iPhone 6 that is running and old version of safari 12. The images load okay! So I guess it’s some bug to do with LS Cache and Chrome’s dev tools. The only question left is why would clicking “use original files” and then “purge all” in the image optimization area not force the site to serve the original jpegs?
