JS not deferred

I installed and enabled the plugin and set it to defer javascript, exclude jquery. My GTMetrix ranking has not improved at all and doesn’t match the improvements that the simulator showed were possible with those settings. I have run another GTMetrix report and the list of recommended javascripts to defer has not changed at all since before I installed the plugin. Am I doing something wrong or missing a setting I need to configure? Thanks so much for your help with this!

Did a quick GTmetrix test; almost all of the remaining to-be-deferred JS is from Youtube @malloryw1
maybe look into a lazyload solution for youtube (maybe even WP YouTube Lyte)?
