Is there any particular reason you want to use microdata instead of json? Google recommends json https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/intro-structured-data.
The thing is that microdata makes the code messy and I really don’t want to go there 🙂 unless there is a very good reason for it.

Hi! Support for markup in the validator and its support in the search engine itself are two different things.I do not know how to Bing, but Yandex search engine does not support today LD+JSON. Perhaps the same situation with bing. Therefore, it is always great to have alternatives.
