I have exactly the same problem, its a major one with long thumbnail gallery’s of 100 or more
I feel Clients will just get bored and frustrated with having to scroll all the way back, to there original viewing position in the list of thumbnails and just leave the site
Resulting in loss of buisness
hopefully there is a solution for this
Snapper 65, nobody helped me with this so in the end, I just gave up on NextGEN and bought a different gallery which works fine. NextGen might have helped if I had paid for an upgrade from the free version, but it was so expensive, I wasn’t prepared to take the risk that the issue might still not even be resolved even after paying $hundreds (in kiwi money). The one I bought only cost about a hundred kiwi dollars for lifetime use – a fraction of the nextGEN cost and I was very happy with the result.
Im at exactly that point. I came on here with my problem, I’m getting everyone else problem in my inbox now, but nothing about my problem and now I have another problem that I know it not even worth putting on here. I will never use Nextgen again. TuiLorraine, what gallery did you change to?? Thanks

I own Nextgen Pro
The problem of Nextgen Gallery jumping to the top of the thumbnail list, is present in Nextgen Pro Masonry
So good job you didn’t purchase the pro version
