Hi Robin. I have this and two other of your plugins installed and either activated or about to be. You seem to have the solutions I’m looking for, and nobody else does (or they don’t do it right).

Here’s the problem–your bbpress style customizer is doing nothing, and I can’t figure out why. My site is served through cloudfare, but I purged that cache. Nothing. I’ve opened the site in different browsers, including ones that have never been directed to my site. Nothing. I am the administrator for the site and have all permissions.

The only thing I could think that might be wrong is that I started out with the Weaver for bbPress plugin (their themes were just as ugly as the original, and couldn’t be adjusted the way I need them to be–like yours allows). I deactivated that plugin, but perhaps it left files or redirects behind? I’m just not well enough versed with tracking that sort of thing down.

The other possibility is that there’s some sort of interference with another plugin. I have copied the list your troubleshooting tab provides:

I don’t know if you can spot anything or not, but what is on my site now is ugly, too small, virtually unreadable, and ick.

Weaver, which worked, is just as ugly.

I want YOUR plugin to work.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    JC

ok, I can see it working from my browser and my css is loading and active.

can you give an example of a setting that isn’t working for you, eg

this tab has this item set to x and it doesn’t seem to work

Thank you for the quick reply. If you are seeing it working–not loading the default bbpress style–then perhaps it is a caching problem on my end or something. I changed all the fonts in the “forum index styling” settings (to Arial, a sans serif font), and none of them are showing up for me. I purged the cloudfare cache, which should have forced them to reload with the new settings. Maybe it’s a local caching problem. The only thing that doesn’t make sense about that is that I loaded the page in an entirely different browser, and it still shows with the default bbpress stying (though it seems smaller in Microsoft Edge than in Firefox, where it’s pretty small).

I honestly am not sure what it might be.

As I say, I changed to Arial (sans serif) but for me it’s still displaying a serif font. I also changed the “empty forum” message, but it still displays the default.
    Are you seeing Arial?

Thanks again for your response, and for looking into this. It’s a mystery to me.

it shows as Arial in my browser.

suggest you try a pc, tablet or phone that has never accessed this page before

I’ll do that, and try clearing all my caches. If you’re seeing Arial, it’s working–just not on my end. Thanks again for your rapid response. I’ve got three of your plugins installed. I appreciate the work you do.

    All the best.
