keep spacing in text editor

Hi,

When editing a page using the text editor on WP, any spaces / returns I add in to separate each element get removed if I switch to visual, or the next time I’m editing the page. This makes it extremely difficult to navigate through the code as it’s all just one giant block of it. I have googled the problem and there doesn’t seem to be much about it so I’m thinking it may just be me? Does anyone know what I can do about it?
