Hi Christine, jQuery Cycle doesn’t have support for keyboard navigation built in, but you could add this with a custom slideshow script.
Here is a tutorial that explains how to add keyboard navigation to a slideshow in general, and here is a code example that is specific to jQuery Cycle.

Thanks for your response. Also the other question was I am using a theme called Architekt which came with a slider for the home page. It has the nivo slider integrated into the code. How do I disable this slider and use the meteor slider instead? It is really only the home page where it’s written into the code. At the moment when I put in the meteor slider on the home page it’s displaying as a small slider to the right of the header.

Sorry, I could probably tell you how to remove the old slider from looking at the theme, but I couldn’t tell you why the new slideshow isn’t displaying right, I’d have to inspect the site live. Have you tried inspecting the site with something like Firebug to try figuring out why it is shrinking? Usually this is because the space for the slideshow isn’t big enough, or it is being floated.

I’m using the same theme (Architekt) and I am having the same problem – It has a nivo slider on the home page, the content of which comes from different posts in the ‘Slider’ category and as a consequence each image in the slide is clickable and links back to each post.
I think it’s a bit pointless having a post for each picture and I also don’t want to be able to click on each picture.
First problem: I want to remove the nivo slider and replace with a better slider with more control.
Second Problem: The main body of the index page consists of 3 boxes (images), which link to Blog posts. – This is fine, but I also want to be able to have these posts as pages in my main menu bar on the top ( so I can get to them from every page), but can’t figure out how to do that simply. I can’t seem to edit the menubar in the code (or at least I don’t know how).
any help is much appreciated.
