for images added to media library we can see keywords field in IPTC section filled automatically and not possible to change – can we make this field editable by hand or by using any other plugin feature to inject data eg from any other field there?

MLA provides several features to extract keywords and other metadata from image files and update the WordPress database with the values. I regret that MLA does not have any features for changing metadata within the image files themselves. I made an early design decision not to have any features that modify the files directly. I do not know of any other WordPress plugin that provides that capability.
