I found some old threads about BasePress ignoring the main theme and settings on the WordPress site running the plugin. I’m needing to find a work around so that my site’s main header, navigation menu, and footer, appear throughout my knowledge base and its articles. I’m hoping to have consistent branding throughout the site, specifically on the BasePress content which is going to be 99 percent of the whole experience.

I’ve tried the “Skip loading of header and footer,” and what I’m left with is symantic HTML with no CSS whatsoever. There’s nothing in the plugin’s quick start guide, nor can I find anything in the documentation. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance for your time!

PS – It looks like many others have had this same issue, but they’ve been marked “Closed” and I can’t read about any resolution. Help!

Well, in order to achieve something close to what you want, using the shortcodes in Regular WP pages is the way to go.

This page has more help on this https://basepresskb.com/docs/knowledge-base/adding-content/using-the-shortcodes/

BasePress plugin folder has themes/ folder. Which includes it’s own themes and customizing those header footers (the old way) is the other way to go. But that’s not what you are looking for I guess.

    This is helpful. Thank you.

PS – I’m on the cusp of becoming a paying customer of your product! Please try harder to sound welcoming instead of dismissive of the help I need. Yes, you’re going to be dealing with a lot of beginner and intermediate users here on this forum, so we’re going to need some hand-holding. Not everyone is an expert level WP developer.

I sincerely apologize. Didn’t mean it in dismissive way. English is not my first language but I will try to do better next time.
