Hi Andrew
Have you checked that your images aren’t bigger than the 500kb allowed by kraken at the moment?
And also kraken does support the following images:
JPEG files, PNGs with alpha channel, static GIFs and GIF animations
If the images are in any other format or are bigger than 500kb or if you try to optimize more than 50 images per day, the optimizer will not work.
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thanks very much for the reply.
One image is a 140KB JPEG file. The others are 20KB PNG files. These are all I’ve tried, so I’m certainly under the 50/day limit.
Simply put, nothing happens. It would be great if when clicking “Optimize it now” there was at least an error message. But the page simply refreshes with no change to the page or to the image (it still loads as 140KB on the blog post).
Would you have any other thoughts?
Thank you,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
The JPEG image won’t work because it’s not a Web format it needs to be JPG.
Could you please send me a message using the contact form on our site:

It would be easier to help.
Thanks,
Daniel

The guys from Kraken working on an update. I’ll stay in touch with them and then also release an update as soon as they have released it.
Daniel
Same problem too.
I send a mail (feedback on kraken) to kraken staff (before read this topic). Hope an upgrade.
This is the answer:
“We are not associated with SEO Booster by any means. In a few weeks we will be releasing our own official WP plugin which I can ensure you will be rock solid.

The Kraken Team
“Bulk Optimize Images with Kraken” page should be removed if “use kraken” is disabled.
Also the Kraken column from media library table.
cheers!

I contacted the people from Kraken and they are working on a new API and then they will release a plugin and so I’ll take that feature off, of my plugin since you would need to re-register for their new API when they release it and so you could then also install their plugin at the same time.
Daniel
Love this plugin but I really don’t like having this broken feature hanging around in there. Will the Kraken code be removed anytime soon?
