    Hi,
I restored my site last night. The plugin worked perfectly! Kudos! Thank you!

    I have two questions:

    1) My backup is 1.3Gb. Yes, gigabytes. That seems terribly large. The site is image-centric since I am an artist. However, I don’t have a huge number of images…only 19 so far. You can see all of them at jameswestpaintings.net/gallery/
I have added and deleted many plugins during development of the site. Would that add significant size to the stored archive??

    2) I need to cache the site or at least the images in order to speed it up. However, I run an auction for each painting I post (about 4/month) which runs for only 24 hours. I’m concerned about caching the auction part as there is a displayed timer associated with the auctions. I realize the auction issue is outside your scope but I was hoping you might be able to suggest a caching plugin that would be compatible with Darwin regarding backing up and restoring. Any advice on this would be much appreciated 🙂

I get paid on Friday. I will be sending you a modest but appreciative donation for your efforts on this plugin. It is an excellent and simple solution!

    James

    Hello James,

I’m really pleased to hear plugin worked for you, thank you very much for feedback !

    1. Plugins do not add any significant amount of space. It might be you have backups of your site generated by other plugins (or control panel), or some developer files / db dumps, 3rd party software which is not related to WordPress (eg PhpMyAdmin).

    2. My personal belief is that ‘W3 Total Cache’ is the way to go. Darwin Backup does not really care about any other plugins, the only problem Darwin Backup in currently has is running at wpengine.com hosting, due to their very restrictive hosting environment.

    3. I don’t have a possibility to accept a donation, however I would be really thankful for a Facebook share of https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/darwin-backup/ url or a positive feedback at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/darwin-backup/reviews/

    WBR,
    Alex
