Do you have both language packs installed, right?
http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/translation/core/4.0/ca.zip
and
http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/translation/core/4.0/es_ES.zip
In your wp-config.php there is a line for the language which should be set in this way:
define('WPLANG', '');
Cheers,
Dennis.
Yes I have both packages installed but in my wp-config there is no such a line. Where exactly should I add It?
thanx
No, there is no need to add this line. I wanted to be sure that you have not set any language there.
I installed the 2 languages on my test system and faced the problem was in the ca-package. Just copy the file ca.po (which is 0 byte) to ca.mo and you will have Catalan and Spanish in your select-box…
Hi,
I have the same problem with english, – I can set it in the admin but when I click safe, it changes back. Now I saw, that there is no en.mo and no en.po in my language folder. I started with german, added french and italian and everything was fine. but english doesen’t work…
thanks, jack
I guess I found the solution, – I have to change the language in the basic settings of the theme to english….
Is that the correct way of doing this? If not, please send me a note….
Thanks again!
Jack
@jackrenn Next time please open a new thread. 😉 The problem which @martafont reported has to do with a (in my opinion) damaged language pack.
You must set the language for every blog. This can be done in General > Settings or in the configuration of the Multisite Language Switcher.
sorry for the tread hijacking…. 😉
When I have set german in the general settings, I can not switch to english in the ML Switcher. I don’t know why. But as soon as I change to english in the general settings, I can do it also in the ML Switcher settings.
Nevertheless…. my problems are solved. 🙂
thanks,
jack
