    Hey there,

Thank you for creating this good looking Google Review plugin. I was just wondering, is there a way to display the reviews in a certain language depending on the site language? I have a dutch part and french part of the site. I know Google often translated the reviews themselves it you change languages.

    Thank you for the info.

    Hi,

currently, this is only possible, using string translation plugins like TranslatePress.

The plugin pulls your reviews in the local language of your Google Business Profile. While we have a dropdown select field for choosing the language, most of the time, Google will ignore this.

@paretodev that was a fast reply :-). I use WPML so perhaps that is the way to go to translate them. I was indeed checking because I found the dropdown but wasn’t sure of the function.

If this plugin is compatible with string translations however, it should work like you described.

@paretodev I can’t find the review in WPML to translate them (string translation). I did find the general plugin text files to translate in Dutch. Any domain I need to add to find them?

You can’t translate your review texts using translation files. They are dynamic and can’t be delivered through a fixed file. I only know that Translatepress is capable of this. It seems to filter the_content via the get_text hook or something like this. I do not think WPML is capable of this.

@paretodev ah ok I get it now. It is a pitty Google doesn’t recognize the correct language. As they do translate them in their own service when a non-native speaker sees the review (with a button -> read original)
