Hey @optimizing – is there any sort of caching in place on the site?
Hi Devin,
No I don’t think so. It’s all standard.
Hey @optimizing – Make sure you have the files named like so:
give-pt_PT.mo
give-pt_PT.po
I just tested and it’s working if you provide the proper prefix. We have an article that explains it more here: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/translating-give/
I hope this helps!
Hi Devin,
we have done all of that, and still not working. I can see that some translations are on the .po file as i edit it, but on the frontend they don’t appear.
we have put all the files in the wp-content/languages/give/ but for some reason it just don’t assume. it there anyway for me to test if those files are being read?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Cheers,
Hugo
Hey @optimizing – thanks for giving it a shot. There’s not really a way to “test” the files. They should simply load the translations you’ve created properly. I have a few follow-up questions:
1. By chance, is your WP user profile locale set to a different locale? If it is, you will see the the locale your user profile is set to when you preview Give elements like the donation form on the frontend.
2. Have you tried moving the translation files to the following directory: wp-content/languages/plugins/ to see if they are loaded from there?
3. Can you provide me a download link to test the translation files?
Please let me know and thanks for your patience in figuring this one out.
